Not to kill the microbes, just to have them perform at their peak. When they are at their peak the organics are delivered close to the same speed as in-organics......................... When I say to use in-organics in pots it is only a suggestion.

But I think like someone said baking powder might help but it will slightly raise PH just like the soap would, I use soap to treat plants so a little will not effect anything..

I wouldn't apply the baking soda to the soil, Just put an open box in the tent the same way you would in a fridge.

Well diluted fish ferts are some of the best stuff you can give small seedlings IMO. Odor goes away pretty quick for me.
