Flaming Pumpkin Hot Sauce

When I recieved these 2 packages with gifts of beautiful peppers I really wasn't sure what to do with them. So, I was doing some planning for my next brew day, a Pumpkin Ale and when I went to get somethig out of the fridge I saw the boxes of peppers sitting there and it dawned on me what wonderful fall colors they are and that's when it dawned me that a Pumpkin Hot Sauce would be a really cool and so:

Flaming Pumpkin Hot Sauce

The 2 boxes from SocalChilihead and Romy6 are an amazing collection of peppers and honestly I have no idea what all of them are but after a little hacking and whacking and smacking and into the jar it goes.

Can't wait to see how this comes out. I think that the pumpkin and cranberries are a great combo and the spices, shhhh it's a secret, are going to provide an amazing lil some some to it.

Have a great one y'all

Well, it won't be up for the trick or treaters but I will be processing the sauce either this weekend or next week. I'll try and remember to grab a shot of the jar tonight when I get home. Actually I have 3 jars that I need to process so..........

Well, I have been remiss in updateing my sauces so here's how it went.

Open the jar and, Oh My God does this smell good.

Ph 3.6, good to go. The black things are fermented rehydrated dried Cranberries.

After a 20 minute boil and 45 minute simmer it time for a little blending.

Second Simmer, then it'll get a second blending and be reheated to 195 min for 25 minutes then.

This one was on the Thanksgiving table too. Pumpkin being a new ingredient I was really excited for this one and no I was not disappointed. This sauce had a great flavor but was not pumpkiny to me at all. Like using Carrots or Sweet Potatoes it blended into the finished sauce very nicely.

Several bottles have been sent out so again hopefully some of them will post their thoughts.

Cheers,
RM
