For the US people, where to buy xanthan gum powder or similar?

I can't find the stuff at my local supermarket. Would a certain type of store have it locally or is mail order the only option?

cabellas, any sausage making supplier.. ask your local butcher especially if they make in-house sausage

Whole Foods carries it in the organic foods area. I've also seen it on Food Town/Food Circus stores.

an alternative to the gum is Arrow Root...I got some last year at Central Market and used it in one of my sauces...thickens good with no taste...
