food Forgive me for I have sinned

I almost spewed when I saw the photo. Thankfully you survived. We all learn from our mistakes, and Good God Man...Don't you know the latest research has shown that at least 1 or 2 beers a day is healthy for you?

There are some good vegan/ vegetarian products out there. I have had spicy chili made with tvp and beans. Spicier than many of the ones made with meat and good texture. Been awhile tho so the brands allude me.

Thank you for saving me the trouble of giving it a try. I keep looking at it, but have always had a nagging feeling that it just won't have that same magic salivary gland taste that real Chorizo has.

On the subject of Soy based meat substitute... In case any one is wondering about the Soy dogs that Fresh & Easy has, STAY AWAY!. The first 2 packs we ate actually tasted damn near like a hotdog and the texture was actually close so we bought a couple of packs. Yeah, those first 2 packs were actually decent enough to warrant keeping a stock of them on hand... All of those packs tasted like a different form of Tubed crap from each other. None of them tasted the same at all, but all shared the same asian foot mouth aftertaste. TB, you seriously could not have nailed that aftertaste better

Soy just never lives up to it's hype outside of Tofu, and even then it's hit and miss.

I liked the soy-filled burgers we used to get in the school cafeteria.

Or perhaps it was just a safer option than the grey lasagna.....

that must have been some bad shit you got when you first started this thread TB...

welcome back to sanity...

You have no idea compadre. There are better healthy and tasty alternatives than that compost product. I've dropped 7 1/2 pounds in the last week and a half. I simply cut the beer intake in half and cut out nonessential carbs, all the fat, and all the meat. Fish veggies and fruits make up about 90% of the diet for now. Don't be scared yet. I have some 'que on deck for this coming weekend!

WTH were you thinking? SOY? I like their sauce but I didn't know they made sausage! :0 lol. Soy protien and I
do not get along, as a matter of fact my wife banned me from eating soy bearing products due to the, er, lets
just say "the adverse effects of greenhouse gases and global warming!"

Well ya'll.....it happened again. I had some onions, squash, bell peppers, 'peno's and mushrooms to use up and thought I'd saute them all up in some olive oil and garlic. Looking around in The Blues Pantry I noticed I had funky store bought "chorizo" seasonings that needed to go away as well. One 'thang lead to another and then I'm adding some tomato sauce. 'LAWD HAVE MERCY!!! WHAT HAVE I DONE??

I'm so embarrassed to admit that I made and ate......VEGGIE CHILI!!!!

The tequila made me do it!

Very interesting, TB.....how did it taste?

I had a GREAT comment for your finished photo....but decided against it in the name of decency.....so I'll just ask:

What is the white stuff on top....cheese?

He was using a white cheese the other day. This looks like he crumbled it up on top.

But I'll wait for the official declaration. ;)
