From the flood

i only just got a new laptop yesterday (old one died day before the flood). We lost all of downstairs (kitchen, bathroom, laundry, lounge, office) but missed upstairs by 3" so we have dry beds. That makes the water level about 6'6" at the front door. Power has been back on for 2 weeks but only 2 powerpoints from the fusebox as still wires hanging downstairs (no walls) We got hit pretty bad but the volunteers moved in straight away & all got tidied up quickly. Still 2 out of 3 houses here are empty...many not returning.

So those of us 'çave-dwellers' still here are living off bbq's and we're out of sauce & no fresh pods to be found anywhere - talk about tragic! Life is returning to as normal as it can be under the circumstances - the boy is back at school & i scored a place at the local uni to do a BA

Thanks for all the messages, sorry its taken a month to post but there were a few other things on my mind :P

cheers
~bent

I can't imagine going through something like that. Sounds like your family is safe and healthy, that's the most important thing. Best of luck Bent

Luckily those I know in BrisVegas all missed getting wet homes, but having done flood relief as a firefighter I know the damage it does both short and long-term.

If you message me an address I'll put a couple of bottles of my home-brew sauce in the post to help you out over the coming weeks.

Bent~ sounds like there is some serious mucking out to do/is being done. Glad to hear the family is safe and sound, sorry to hear bout the house.

(shout-out to THP amigos regarding AU help auctions)
Bentalphanerd, I hope you don't mind a quick reminder of the help auctions for AU flood victims that is still going on for a couple more days. Now is when the second wave of help is needed. After the initial storms, homes need help, people need resources....

Again, this is a great opportunity for international bidders to get some hot products, help our down under m8s and ....free shipping.... which is a huge bonus for our international chileheads.

Bent~- if you do not wish to have this in your post, I will remove it right away. Let me know, thanks, SL
