So this is kind of amazing. It looks like what they do is have a Kickstarter program each year. So far this year they have raised nearly $30,000.00. Then later in the year, they ship out boxes of chili to people who contributed. However, it is a CSA so some of the risk is shifted to the patrons. I am fairly sure in a CSA if the crops fail (horrible weather or what not) there are no refunds: Community Supported Agriculture s opposed to traditional agriculture where the farm is the one at complete risk
