Gassy's 2012/2013 Glog thingy

Well, Spring has arrived here in the Land of Oz and it's all starting to happen. I thought I would quit being a lazy bones and start a glog this season. Even though I'm so far behind where I had planned to be at this point, things are running along smoothly enough. I released some Neoseiulus californicus predator mites about a month ago to take care of my broad mite problem and so far, they are being amazing. A month later and I have yet to see any new signs of broad mite activity. It is still early days though and time will tell just how effective the little buggers are. And of course, I still have to get on top of the fruit fly problem (not looking forward to that one). With Spring here and new pods forming, the little bastages can't be too far around the corner. :(

A few piccies to get the show on the road. Not gonna backtrack or anything now... just some random shots of some of what's going on.

(RC boats anyone? lol)

eerily beautiful pics considering your descriptions. hang in there...

I tell ya, with the stinkin' heat and humidity, the water looked good enough to just jump in... if it wasn't for all the rubbish floating around and accumulating around the edges lol. Now that it's receeding though, it's just mud and sludge and it reeks! I remember being covered head to toe in that stuff after the 2011 floods when I was living in Brissy.....

Yeah I have been going backwards and forwards past Logan on the train gas and it seemed to really be the last place still with flood waters up around the southeast at least.
I also saw a few houses which must have had waters through them around there but granted not many

Yeah, it just seemed to have pooled here, aye. Ah, the days of the train.... I don't miss that sh*t at all. I used to do Kingston to Brunswick St / Brunswick St to Kingston five days a week..... can't imagine coming from the Goldy!

Phaaa, you wanna try the London underground on a daily basis, at least you can see the sky.

Mezo.

Even if it wasn't underground there, would you even still see the sky? lol

Nah, thaaaat would suuuuck!

Better then driving to the northside everyday for 3 years gas ... I can tell you that much!!

True. Since moving back to Logan I drive now.... but with my hours now, I at least beat both morning peak and afternoon peak. Sans peak or not, doing the Goldy run every day might be a bit much though. In that case, I can see the appeal of the train where you can at least read (what I used to do) or do some new-fangled ipadding or something.

Glad to see you came out unscathed. Were you lucky enough to have that mangy mutt washed away?

Oh, I didn't share the news?? (how did I contain it??) We found someone else to look after the mutt a couple weeks ago.... someone who actually wants to keep it. :D Great news... but nah, not just for my own benefit. I actually started feeling a really sorry for the thing.... I'm sure it was picking up on the vibes that nobody wanted it here. The people who took it also have another dog and apparently they are getting along swell. I'm honestly happy to hear it (for reasons other than my own).

you think thats bad, you should see the pics of Bundy (a bit further north), there was a good shot on the news tonight of a house parked in the middle of an intersection.

Never had to deal with floods, and I'm glad too. It looks like a serious PITA.

Great shots Gas. Is that still the Canon A480? Good little camera. I just discovered the supermacro mode. Great for closeup pod shots if you have plenty of light and you can keep everything still.

Sorry all, had a bit on plate and disappeared for a bit there... but I'm back!

I ended up culling most of my plants a couple months ago and have only kept a handful of favourites to overwinter (and a few that I haven't seen/tasted pods from yet!).

Despite pruning most of the remaining plants right back at the time of the culling of the others, they all just grew right back and started producing again! (Not that I'm complaining, of course.... ;))

Without further ado, autumn poddage:
