My beautiful bug slayer was nearby. Just for luck.

So, seeds started today:
Yellow Devils tongue
Bhut orange Copenhagen
Carolina reaper
Reaper x bubblegum
Peach congo
Mako akokosrade
Chocolate bhut
red jays Ghost Scorpion.

Plenty more to follow, this Is just Chinense

microwaved in a tupaware box and dampened the soil before. heated it for a few minutes and took a thermometer reading, microwaved more if needed. let it cool a bit and transfered to the cups.

didnt stink, its quite a pleasant smell. Autumn indoors

I wonder if microwaving perlite has a negative effect. Have you tried it? I realize it's already expanded but would hate to have mini bombs popping like popcorn in the microwave.

How did the smoked pepper powder come out G? Have you used it on anything yet?

Very cool that you have seedlings underweigh... spring is still 12 weeks off here, so I'll be starting seeds in another 2-3 weeks and will have to live vicariously from glogs like yours. ;)

came out great. sweet and very smokey.

Have used it in soup/Japanese hotpot and it was great!
i want to try a superhot version, the smoke might take the edge off the characters of 7 pots (which i have lots of!) which i find overwhelming.

i thought you started earlier than i in previous years. Explains why i couldnt find your new glog this year, id feared for the worst when i couldn't find it. Still, looking forward to it!

i might be able to plant out earlier this year. essentially i have soil and pots already outside. remix and add a few bits, far easier than previous years. as soon as the temps are up i can go ahead. i lost 6 weeks last year when i moved house and had to carry soil upstairs.

ive ordered some myco and humic acid from the US. still have kelp ferts.

gonna add crab meal to the soil this year too, which i can get domestically. should be a step up. planning to go even more organic and build up even better live soil.

Very good sounding pepper powder... I can see you putting that "ish" on nearly everything... ;)

Crab meal sounds like it'd be great for building up the soil. We can get ground Lobster shell here... I'll have to compare the nutes/cost to bone meal, and I'll get whichever one gives me the most bang for my buck when I prep the beds for planting in spring.

Cheers!

Me sprouts.
Bhut orange Copenhagen x 3 (only one looks healthy though).
3 x peach Congo.
1x Carolina reaper plus one hook coming up
3x mako akokosrade. First time growing chillies from Ghana!
1x bubblegum 7 pot X Carolina reaper
2x chocolate bhut
2x yellow Devils tongue.

Jays red ghost Scorpion probably dud seeds.

Nice looking seedlings G! Have you grown Baccatums before? They do really well here in the north, I'll be curious how they do at your latitude.

Bhut orange Copenhagen has only one good looking seedling.
One has warped cots and one is albino.

Everything else looking good.

100% Germination rate on baccatum. The last few are hooking.
Those baccatum seem to get leggy easier, I will try raise them a bit closer to the lights.

Planning on getting an extra light in there this weekend, too. Larger space this year could use an additional light.
My gardening partner is always nearby. She doesn't like chillies much, but because the bugs they attract, she's quite supportive!

Have two lights now instead of just one.

Should stop plants on the edge leaning so much. Also can have different distance levels, one Light higher than the other.

Excellent boost to light production G... Hope that'll help with leggy seedlings!  The BOC is still a bit unstable so I'm not surprised you got so much variation in your phenotypes there... it'd be cool if the albino makes it to maturity.

Sorry, buddy, ran out of likes according to the positivity police.

Your starts are getting ready to take off, bro!  Good job.

The hedgehog is cute as a button.  The babies are just unbelievably cute.

Thanks guys! Things seem to get better every year.

Sadly the albino shrivelled and died. Not to worry!

I have some myco and humic acid on its way from the states which will hopefully be here by plant out time.

Been gathering other soil amendments too, so it's not a mad rush to remix all the soil I gotta do.

Gonna start a few types of tomatoes this weekend too. Planning to get some hops going and a few varieties of cucumbers.
