I was cooking my seeds and seedlings using the heating pad without a thermometer...the seeds started popping like popcorn in 2-3 days and this weekend I had to plant about 50 in mini-dixie cups.
Some of the seeds had what appears to be a white fungus on the root, but the again, I don't know if what I am seeing is natural so I planted them all in Burpee super pellets, a coconut based pellet. I put them under about an 1/8" of soil and gently pressed it down.
Some, maybe 5 our of 50 had what appeared to be a black speckled fungus covering the entire seed. I do think this is a mold for fungus so I saved thos for last and removed them with tweezers from the Pyrex container.
So, is the white fuzz a fungus or the natural appearance of a health root?
How about the black speckled hairy crap?
How long should it take to see some hooks?
It is kinda funny but I am more interested in the new prospects over those that are doing well in the garden since I have no freaking clue what any of the seeds are. I just germinated two of every seed I have
