Goodbye Old Girl...

It's never easy to say goodbye...

Especially to a constant companion for the last quarter of my life.

We've spent countless hours together.

We've been close for twice as long as I've been married.

How do you let go of something that has been there for you, day in
and day out?

You've been in some of my favorite photographs over the years.

Some of my fondest memories include laying together for lazy after-
noon naps.

Goodbye old girl. You will be gone but definitely not forgotten.

You will be replaced but it will never be the same.

My wife says you smell of old dog and are out of date and wants to
send you to the landfill.

We will spend one more lazy afternoon nap together and then with
a tear in my eye, I'll say goodbye and and caress your cottony curves
one last time. I'll miss you terribly, my favorite couch...

WHAT THEY SAID!!!!!!

Good one though, totally had me too. Now, as has been suggested above Viking Funeral!!!
Dont forget to be drinking your Ale from a Horn and wear a BIG HAIRY HAT

I held an Occupy Sofa protest last night but unfortunately it only lasted
ten minutes or so until I needed another shot of Jägermeister, which the
wife adroitly refused to provide for me...

I think I'll cut a big ol' section of fabric from the back of the couch and
fashion a pair of shorts from it.

The Viking funeral / pyre suggestions have been noted. Coincidentally,
I happen to already be a fan of consuming beer around a fire.

The wife is glad that so many people agree with her concerning the
appearance of this fine piece of furniture. She also thinks I need to stop
living in the past. But where does it end? Will I have to get rid of my Grand
Funk Railroad 8-Tracks next?

Use the fabric from the back to make your wife a carpet bagger type purse and matching blazer , blouse or a pair of Daisy dukes and halter top. :)
Better yet, give it to her on valentines day or your anniversary.

So stick it in an alley on skid row with a couple refrigerator boxes sheltering it like a bus stop.
Great condo for the homeless.

Here in LA if you stick it on the curb some upholstery shop would pick it up,re stuff it and sell it.

Try good will, they clean them up and sell them to college students for their dorm.

It looks like that couch would be happy sitting on the FRONT porch (a sign of wealth and prosperity in some trailer parks-it means you turned in enough cans to buy a NEW used couch at the thrift store...or some one traded you a couch for your food stamps..).

Out front the rain or the sprinklers will clean the old girl right up.
Put an old toilet next to it for an end table...
What's better than soaking up a few brews on the porch watching the sun go down.
