I am definitely a newby. Interested in anything that can bring on the heat. I'm not into growing my own peppers (yet), but plan on doing a lot of cooking and raising my threshhold for heat. I bought 1/2 ounce of dried Bhut Jolokia pods from bhut-jolokia.net. Think I'll re-hydrate a pod and use a postage stamp size piece in my salsa recipe and increase it from there.

I lived in Haverhill for a while....had a hard time finding anything spicy except where there was a Hispanic population/community(ie. Lowell...Methuen)and the growing season was too short for back yard gardening.
