Grow Chili - Chili Tomato ?

I picked up a plant yesterday evening from my local hardware store. it was labeled as a chili tomato. it looks like a tomato bush and im eager to taste one (they look a few days of being ripe).

has anyone ever heard of these? is anyone able to shed some light as to what they are? spicy tomatoes or a species of chili?

i need to gather some more information about them so i can review them on my site Growing Chili
 
If it looks like a tomato, it probably is one. maybe from chile*? maybe even one used for making chilli.
