contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

    Theres your problem. Hydro. Ha

When things go wrong, they go wrong quickly. No soil biology to buffer the system. You have to KNOW exactly what youre doing. Dont get me wrong, I love hydro for indoor novelty growing, but its likely to throw wild swings in ph, ppm, etc if youre not on top of it. Have a good ph/ppm meter, know your nutes, and use RO water if you want to be sure.

Now Im not saying a hydro plant couldnt win this competition either, it would just have to have a res the size of a 55gallon barrel with the best aeration youve ever seen. Hell just grow into a continuous 55 gallon batch of AACT! That would be how I did it.
Even then, Id still put flavors of the fruits fed by soil up against hydro any day.
CSB gave me a run for my money a few years ago with his hydro plant. That was when we were doing tallest plant.

Experiment Time :)

You never mentioned what light(s) you are using and how close you keep them to your plants.  I just watched a video from Peter S and he was has a plant in his grow tent right now that also had/has bleached out cream colored leaves, his ended up being caused by his light being to close to the plant, he raised the light and fresh growth is all green again. Could that be the case for you also? Are just these two plants by themselves under a light or are they with other plants? If they are in a group with others and the others are not affected, it's probably not the light, but still could be if they are just too sensitive to it, same way some plants/leaves turn purple under lights and others not as much.

Whatever you end up trying, try to only change one thing at a time so you know exactly what the problem was, once you find something that helps. Change too many things at once and you wont know what the real problem was.

12-14 inches from the light. I got one 150 watt hps.. 8 40 watt cfl's.. about as equivalent as a 400 watt hps in a 4' wide.. 2' deep.. 2' high grow space to the glass.. that separates the lights from the grow area. 6 inch inline fan pulling the heat at the top. My lights come on 45 minutes.. then go off 30 minutes.. what I got my timer set at.

I think one of my problem is that my fan is connected to same timer as lights.. so when lights go out.. fan goes off. I think I need to keep fan running constantly maybe. Maybe I got a too high humidity.. don't have a gauge.. I need to buy one. :)

Potted up to 6" pots about a week and a half ago. I have only seen one more set of true leaves in that time, but the plants have quadrupled in size. They were slightly root bound in the previous pots. I gave them a good shot of nutes and other goodies in the new soil so the roots could spread out, which would explain the lack of vertical growth. The leaves are already outside the edges of the pot. I agree with others, these things want to grow!
