Has anyone ever been successful at propagating a pepper plant by taking a cutting and using rooting compound...or some other method, other than planting seeds? If so, did the plant actually produce any fruit?
I take cuttings, usually as back-up for my special hybrid plants which cannot be easily reproduced by seed. As cmpman said, do a search for cuttings or clones
Thanks everyone. This is very interesting. It seems easier than growing from seeds. As well, with seeds you are never really sure if the seed you are working with is a pure example of the plant you want, or a hybrid. A cutting will always be a perfect clone of the plant. Is that not correct? I'm definitely going to look closer into this.
