has anyone tried making homemade tapatio sauce?

Can't say I have ever tried this recipe... but the google machines can't be wrong.... right? [or yahoo machines, as it were...]

Dude that recipe sounds nothing at all like Tapatio! That's some Internet troll. Tomato? Cumin? OIL???? WTF?

Tapatio: Water, red peppers, salt, spices, garlic, acetic acid, xanthan gum. Sodium benzoate (as a preservative).

By the way sauteing dried chiles in oil DOES NOT rehydrate them (which would be needed for sauce). Frying in oil just makes a dried chile crispier and oilier. This recipe is BOGUS!

Haha... Fair enough. :) To be quite honest, I googled 'tapitio recipe', and that was the 3rd result after a couple of recipes that included the sauce. So I just copied and pasted the URL. Sorry for the misinformation. I had no mal-intent.

At least I didn't use lmgtfy.com -- Then I really would have looked like an ... well, choose your own descriptor. :D
