I have a 4' x 2' folding table with 2 2x4 lights.and a 2x2 light.Waiting for sprouts to put under the longer lights with bigger pots.

Megahot, this is my first time from seed.Totally pumped up is more like it.I just couldn't stay away from the "Add to basket" button. If it sounded tasty,I wanted it.

Way to add some pictures! Looking good dude. The waiting for the sprout portion of growing is one of my favorite times :)

I found out how close is too close with my lights.Cooked about a dozen seedlings.I'm using verilux full spectrum flo's.Moved them to about 6" from the tops now. This Is why I started early,I
can easily replace the dead ones. The heat mat stays at about 82 deg,but I wonder about hot spots. The temp probe is in the center of the tray but might be reading off.Down the middle
there have been no seedlings popping up.I need to find a old style mercury thermometer to test it.I know they give true readings

Put a towel over the heat mat, it should eliminate any hot spots! congrats on your first sprout!

It's been awhile,time to update!

After I added a towel over the heat mat,I still was having trouble slaying the poor little guys.Wasn't the height of the lights.I was using a spray bottle to water in the morning, and again when I got home. They would dry out & croak really fast!Started bottom watering and letting the top dry out before watering again, but spraying the unsprouted cells a little to keep moist.I think I killed alot of sprouts by letting them dry out before reaching the surface.Seed helmets would not always free themselves, and those sprouts died a horrible, suffocating death. With bottom watering and planting a little deeper(1/2 inch) & a small amout with a spray bottle,no more problems.

Added more lights

The top right plants are not quite as big as they appear. That part is raised up from sitting on top of the gang plug for my lights.

Now,next phase is to finish my greenhouse,so they have room to pot up.More species have been added to my grow, but for now I have just added them to my profile. When I get the time
I'll add all the types and numbers of each I have growing now here.Even with the early problems this has been alot of fun.

Big thanks to all that post advice on this forum!

Wow..looks great hawk. I think I fried some seeds too. My setup needs some tweaking. I have one sprout.....lets see if I can keep it alive. Good luck, Ill checkin latz.

Just added 15 more peppers, and a bunch of tomatoes to the germ setup.I think I've totally lost it now.So much for my week long fishing trips...........

Your plants are lookin good hawk! lol, think ya totally lost it eh? yeah.. welcome to my world. It's a good thing there isn't therapy for this hobby. My whole family would be making me go I'm pretty sure lol. You'll have more fun in the garden than you would on a fishing trip anyway :) Hope all is well with you
