HBJ 2015 - Got a box of pepper love in mail today!!!

Just getting this thrown up here so I can do some edits to it as it is shorter than I want it.

Scaling back my supers to one 30 plant raised bed and one 30 plant hab like bed.

annuums, sweets, and misc peppers will go in the back garden.  Since I had 8 rows of hots out there this year and only planning on 2-3 rows next year, it should make more room for other things.  Also scaling back the number of each type of plant I am growing.  Looking at most 2 per plant type, except for the ones in the back garden.

Nice peppers Jeff. I hope the wind dies down. I can't remember. Where did you get the shade cloth from?

Hope you have a great weekend.

Got it through greenhouse megastore.  10x31 30% with grommets was under 90 bucks.  Definitely need to use it right away on the habs next season.  They sun burnt pretty bad this year and everything else hardly at all.  They got spanked last year too.  But they bounce back, new leaves coming on already.

Wow. That's not a bad deal at all. I might have to get a quote. My Chinese have a tough time as well. Out of four Tepins, I have one that disapproves of full sun. Right now I have all of the plants under my makeshift shade house.

Garden looks great HbJ. I think the Habs sunburn worse because of the lighter leaf cover and faster growth. The supers tend grow a little more slowly and form a thicker canopy, protecting their peppers a little better. All this is anecdotal.

Got some shots of the front garden.  No peppers, but it is looking nice.

The only thing going on here is rain rain and more rain.  Peppers and tomatoes are way behind schedule because of this.  My pea crops are kicking big time butt.  Never had them climb so high and bearing really well.

Second planting of lettuce and spinach too.

Better off than most the farmers, a lot of flooding here.  My fields are too wet to walk right now.

Nice looking garden Jeff. I hope the weather turns in your favor. Can't wait to see the beds full.

Maybe the later season pods will show there true flavor. I don't have any Fatalii this year, just Jigsaw. Hope you've had time to get some fishing in. I've been out a few times but haven't caught anything. It's still relaxing.

Thanks for sharing.

Great front garden Jeff ... planted with Military precision ... picture perfect ... looking forward to seeing your bonnets especially NeBru7 one of my favourites

Peppers are starting to take shape.  Ton of rain today with more coming.

I have some cgn 21500 pods shaping up.

Some others, but their names escape me as I just got home from work.  Off tomorrow.

Ate a jigsaw in an omelet today and I really like this pepper.  Hotter than the not white, yellow bhut that I am growing again this year, plus it doesn't have that after taste you burp up for an hour after you eat.  It was never an overbearing heat, but it had my nose running and every pore on my body sweating.  Side of tongue, under tongue, and gums felt the most of the heat.  Later pods should be hotter.

The NWY I grew out last year had one plant throw a moruga shaped pod.  So of course I tried to see if I could get them to throw them again.  Nope.  Just like my burgundy 7 pot with the stinger....no such luck.  Shame, cause they were some sexy pods.

Isn't looking like I will have tonage of pods this year.  Enough to keep me in fresh pods, and hopefully enough to send out some gift boxes later in the year.

Oh yeah, orange blob is kicking out some pods.  Only had the one pod Greg sent me last year, don't remember how it tasted, but I know I wanted to grow it out this year,  so I am excited to see this one ripen.

Wishing everyone good growing, and I hope to post some harvest pics when I get more than a couple pods at a time.

I hope the rain resides. I'm having the same problem. I hope the 100 degree weather doesn't come back.

I love the Jigsaw. That is my favorite new pepper. The ones I had from Judy last year rivaled very close to the Reaper. I'm growing a few plants this year.

Hope you get enough pods for you and a charitable powder auction. We will see what I end up with. I'm happy if I get enough freezer pods to get me through the Winter.

Have a great week and thanks for the update.

You know, my fatalii turned out to be a baccatum as well! In my case, aji limon. I am sure I screwed up which seeds were which. D'oh!

Todays meager harvest.  Will never grow time bombs again.  Only grew them this year because no one had the big bomb hybrid anywere.  A shame as it was a great stuffer.

Glad I have two plants of them and a bag full in the freezer.  Never hurts to have extra!!!  But I am hoping my sweets kick in as I have 3 ferments going since February.
Surely isn't a fatalii

Definitely a baccatum flavor to it.
