Hello, From Minnesota !

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the pepper scene, just starting this year. I recieved the topsy turvy for peppers on Easter and get the bug then lol

This is my first year growing peppers but I think I am off to a good start. So far I have:

7-"Chilli red" plants in the topsy turvey, i think they might be fresnos
8-cayanne plants
7-habanero plants
1-caribbean red hot plant
1-jalapeno plant
2-"cherry bomb" plants, looks to be kind of like a hot cherry tomato plant
4-hot bananna pepper plants

oh and, a 4-pack starter of Ghost Chillis from pepperjoes, should arrive in the mail any day !

I made my first sauce last night from some peppers I got fromt he store. Consisted of about 6 seranno's, 6 jalapenos, and 6 fresnos, with vinegar, lime juice, kosher salt, carotts, and half an onion. was kind of a practice run, but turned out surprisingly well, with good flavor, and more heat than Franks red hot which I normally really like. I am very excited to make more sauces. After I finished the sauce last night I went back to the store and bought:

25-habs
12-serannos
12-jalapenos

so if anyone has a good recipe I would love to know, I am dying to try out the habs lol

Also another quick question. I have a topsy turvy with fresnos in it that look to be doing well. But my Habs and cayannes are in a strawberry pot with a big opening on top and a bunch of lholes on the side with the habs and cayannes, and the caribbean red hot on the top. I thought it would be ok since it is basically the same idea as the topsy turvy, but im wondering if you guys think it would be big enough for that many plants lol

above is a link to a picture of one, they seem to be doing fine, but i dont know how big they will get.

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

yeah i dont think the strawberry pot will work the best either, but they are already planted and seem to actually be thriving, the topsy turvy has even less room than the strawberry pot though and they recommend putting 14 plants in it (2 per hole). I figured it was about the same as that. We will see at the end of the season though if it works or not lol better to know for next year !
