Hello from Okinawa, Japan

Hoo, tell me about it... I was a unit supply clerk for a combat engineer company, and I had a jumped-up martinet of a lieutenant for a C.O.
I wanted to transfer to an overseas posting, but he wouldn't approve the request because he had me doing my job and his too. We're pullin' for ya... we're all in this together.

Thanks. I needed a break from deployments, 3 in 4 years was enough for me at the time, especially since they were already planning work-ups for another earlier than expected deployment. The same thing every day gets boring, and add in you know when you'll be there in the morning, when you get chow and when you finish for the day, it just makes it worse, bored, watching the clock. My last unit, there was always work to do, and alot of it was the same thing, but it wasn't the same thing every day and we didn't always show up or leave at the same times. Right now, I've been in my shop the longest, I know alittle bit about everything so I'm always back and forth answering questions or looking something up for someone.... The perks that come with rank quickly disappear when you know too much, it seems.
