Yeah weeds are the devil. Have ya thought about mulching or covering an area in plastic? Just poke holes through where you want your chillis. Stuff doing it with your other 5600 seeds though lol
 
i'm hearing you on the weeds topic.. that's why i grow chillis and 'erbs in pots. The rest can go hang if it can't survive my jungle garden. - I have been taking a more "pacific island" approach of late and planting out taro / cassava / ginger etc on my slopes also.
