Hi from Israel -A newbe to peppers + ID

Hi everyone,

I'm surfing here on this lovely site for a week now.
You are the best!!!

My name is Itzik and I, as I mention, from Israel.
I'm 23 years old and study biology.

I've always eat hot stuff but in Israel we have only 2-3 kind of peppers on the market,
I decided to get and grow my own (not yet statrted I don't have any seed yet) peppers.

I hope I can started with your help :-).

It's now winter here and we have in the garden outside for 2 years peppers we don't know nothing about.
I hope you can be able to ID it:

Before anybody gets mad about copyright. I took this pic myself and yes, this is my plant, so boo yah!

Does it a ×´good" pepper?
We know it's hot but we never teste due unknow type.

Our plant is outside and survived very two cold winter. This winter is one of the coldes here for the few last year.

I should take and save some seeds? How i do that?

Thank you!

Nice plant, did not put sopa in my eyes!
Welcome iziko, all my experience with people from your neck of the woods has led me to believe that you guys rock!
Happy growing mate.

Thank you for your kind words :)

Nova- i'm just a newbe. I'm raising fish.
This an new hobby to me raising pepper.

I saw on some post that you use a lot of gear that came from the aquarium hobby so i have lot of it :)

Should i save the "black pearl" seed so if somthing happened to the plant I can start over? If so, what I need to do?

Our plant is pretty big (not high but wide).

Many thanks from Israel,

Itzik.

All you need to do is scrape some of the seeds out of 2 or 3 of the dried pods and spread them out on some paper to finish drying. I then put mine in an envelope and into the refrigerator for storage. They are edible and hot...but I'm not certain about the flavor. Some folks on here say they are good, but other don't. It is mainly an ornamental plant.

:welcome:

Thank you all.

Tonight i take some dry pods and start to get the seed out and storge them.

Anyone want to trade ?! :)

Stc- thank you for the info.

Can i put them in zip lock bag?

I prefer paper envelopes so the seeds can get rid excess moisture however zip lock bags are fine if the seed is dry.
