Okay, I know I'm taking a risk here of not being taken seriously as a "chilehead", but I thought I would share some pictures of my non-edibles. It may take a couple of posts to get them all in. The ones that say "wintersown" are things that were germinated outdoors using recyclable containers as mini-greenhouses.
These are all perennials/biennials.
Dianthus 'Sooty' (wintersown '10)
Sedum kamtschaticum 'Varigatum' (received at a regional plant swap)
Berlandiera lyrata (Chocolate Flower - wintersown '10)
Gaillardia 'Burgundy' (wintersown '07)
Verbascum 'Southern Charm' (wintersown '07)
Aquilegia chrysantha (wintersown '07)
Lychnis chalcedonica (Maltese Cross - wintersown '09)
Siberian Wallflower (wintersown '11)
California poppy (wintersown '09) I love the cheerful color of these, but they reseed like crazy! I'll try to get a picture of a whole mass of them together.
Here is a shot of one of the walkway beds. It will look better once the Achillea and Butterfly Weed are fully in bloom.
More to come ...
