My last hot sauce had 7 whole pods + 5.8 grams of dried pods. I used the dried pods because I didn't have enough ripe whole pods. I want to replicate (or exceed) the heat level of the last sauce with only whole pods of the same type of pepper. How many whole pods should I substitute for the 5.8 grams of dried pods? If it makes a difference for the calculation, I dehydrated to pods until they barely passed the snap test, but they weren't dry enough to make powder.
