How to convert dried pods to whole pods?

My last hot sauce had 7 whole pods + 5.8 grams of dried pods.  I used the dried pods because I didn't have enough ripe whole pods.  I want to replicate (or exceed) the heat level of the last sauce with only whole pods of the same type of pepper.  How many whole pods should I substitute for the 5.8 grams of dried pods?  If it makes a difference for the calculation, I dehydrated to pods until they barely passed the snap test, but they weren't dry enough to make powder.

I once was told it takes one pound of ripe peppers to make one ounce of dried powder.
If an ounce = 28 grams approx
1/5 ounce = 5.6 grams approx
so perhaps 3.2 ounces of fresh pepper is the same as 5.6 grams????

"how much" whole pods, based on weight....the above amounts sound about right.

"how many"....if you took note of how many dried pods were used, the same number of fresh pods would equate.  Then just add more for a hotter sauce....

Pods lose 90% of their weight during dehydration, so 5.8grams=58 grams of fresh or frozen pods

This is definitely a much easier formula

To Dragon49, if then basing all peppers of a 90% loss 58 grams of fresh peppers will yield 5.22 grams so still wont be the 5.8 you were looking for but dehydrated pods seem not as hot as fresh pods so maybe you will be set??
