Thanks for the well wishes. I tried the square foot gardening method. Essentially the soil is 50% compost or manure products, 25% peat moss and 25% vermiculite for easy drainage. I water daily as you are supposed to be able to water a lot and get not clumps or problems with drainage with the addition of the vermiculite. My cucumbers would nto stop growing I got a ton of them, same with tomatoes, probably more than 100 from three plants. Everything did well except my peppers which were jalepenos and banana peppers. Full disclosure there were some shadows where they were so about 2-3 hours of the direct sunlight was partially obscured by shadows. I am going to try moveable smart pots this year to "chase the sun" to ensure more sunlight. Perhaps I should plant them a little later as well, maybe mid May instead of mid April after the last frost.
