Howdy folks, 1st post since joining and I need some advice from the longtime growers. Was just outside checking the plants( a habit since finding a hornworm last year) and found a worm on two plants( Habaneros that are about 20 ft apart). They are both now stains on my fence and I really don't want to find anymore. I checked in the "Pest Guide" and didn't find any remedies. Can someone offer up some type of spray/solution to help a brother out? Thanks in advance and successful growing, Pat.

Dont spray, just be on the look out for more. If you find some with white dots that look sort of like cocoons, leave it be. Parasitic wasp larva have pretty much already killed that one and they will hatch and find more.
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) should work. It might take a lot if you have a lot of plants. Check this: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05556.html
Since you check your plants regularly, you can watch for missing leaves, but that would catch them once they've done some damage.

Burn em with a torch!!!!!!! Keep your eyes peeled for more and their eggs on the underside of the leaves.
Use a badminton racket and a raincoat!

Firstly - remove and destroy what you find.
Second, the stuff pictured on the right... Safer brand garden dust (it's a BT - K variant) will nail those worms dead. Just puff the powder on the plants in the evening, and within 3 days or so I guarantee they'll be history. I had a problem with those little munchers recently, and this stuff more than did the trick!
(The one on the left is a BT as well - the one meant for Mosquitos though... I've used about a tbs of granules mixed in w my feedings lately - swirled in the water.. and my gnat problem is history too)

I use fennel as a sacrificial plant for the hornworms and other catepillars. They all pretty much just go for the fennel (lots of fennel for them growing). I grab them off the fennel and kill them unless they obviously have parasitic wasp eggs. The parasitic wasps and other wasps also like fennel when it's blooming for its nectar.
