Heh last season we turned less then 20 pounds of seed into more then 200 pounds of potatoes. So seems kinda wasteful.
Havent ever thought to weigh it out. The brown skins we grow stay in much longer, get much bigger, and do yield crazy wild amounts vs. the bag of seed potato I buy each year. I can tell just by imagining the bag and the bushel baskets we fill.
People want the baby reds really small to cook up with onion and green beans. Have also noticed that if you let them get too big they like to split. All in all, I am not a fan of pontiac reds other than how well they sell. Without much of a skin, they dont keep long enough for me to like them.
