I shouldn't notice, but....

Why do fairly young people (20s) keep looking better and better and people my age keep looking uglier and uglier?  Not talking a sexual thing here but I guess you could go there if you had to.  Is 20 something female friend in my life that I only ever see in the spring and the summer.  She was over today, all energetic and bouncy.  I was all gimping along and tiring out fast.  She borrowed a ladder, climbed onto a building I own at the local ren fair, and fixed some shingle damage... all before noon.  Here on the farm, I was scooting on my ass planting corn, spending more time drinking coffee.

Its not right, they just wake up with energy.  We old farts, we gotta chug coffee and energy drinks.  Not right at all.

Doesnt have to be that way. Im surrouned by lean fit healthy people. I cycle regularly with people in there 50's and 60's. Mr. Bill one of the most bad a$$ dudes Ive ever meant is 73. I also see all kinds of meth heads in there 20's walking the streets looking for cigarette butts. Its all about exercise and not throwing hot dogs and soda down your throat all day. On a side note: this girl you speah of. No pics never happened, lol.

I'm getting close to sixty but I've ate healthy and always worked hard. Still can move anything under 300lbs on my own(only weigh a buck fifty). Now the alcohol and drugs have sure made me ugly but I still ride a bicycle everywhere and the old garden gals still think I'm a catch especially when they see working circles around kids in their 20's and 30's(makes me work even harder). Use it or lose it-if ya sit around all day when your young you'll be doing that when ya get old

I agree , i work out at the gym every day , lift at night , eat right , and feel and look better than i did when i was 25 . just about better shape than my older sons and their 25,24,19,

Old age and treachery trumps youth and exuberence every time.

My 87 year old dad is like Mr Bill that Siccy knows.  Lean, like zero % body fat, mows the yard, trims all the trees (a LOT of trees!), fixes shit, grows a garden....

Me...not so much...  didn't get that 0% body fat gene.  Maybe it skips a generation....?............

My neighbor is in his 70's and surfs every morning. My great grandmother was in her 80's and still cleaning out horse stalls and moving hay bales around, etc. a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest does nothing..lol

"When I was younger I used to seek out the hard work, and now that I am older I seek out the young folks seeking out hard work."

- Quote from my Dad.    There is always some youngin' eager to prove their worth.

Guys, she hopped up on my roof and fixed the shingles, installed shelves around the forge, found someone to weld up the broken parts of the forge, and evidently has the place cleaned up and almost ready to go a month early.  Not sure what I did to deserve her help, but damn glad I have it.  Even if she does make me feel old.

That last line , there's your problem.
Coffee and energy drinks will kill your energy.
I am touching 50 , took my 21 year old daughter for a 6 mile run this morning and left her trailing in the dust.

That can be arranged!
This time no apron though,lol.

Sicman, ye but your wife has a very good reason to give you a hand with your chores n what not.  This year, my feet and legs really got me challenged and so many people have been offering to help or just jumping in and helping.  Guy, things will be better in a few months when crops start coming in, but it is so bad I started a go fund me thing.  Dont get sick.
