I think I FRIED all my peppers!!!!!

I planted about 300 seeds yesterday, and put them on the heat mat, set the dial to 85 degrees and left for 6 hours.....

When I returned I realized I never put the temp sensor in the soil and the heat mat was cranking FULL blast and felt really hot when I got beck!!!
I have no idea what temp it got to, but I am thinking about 100.
I immediately fixed the problem, but do you think that 6 hours at 100 degrees (or more) would have fried them?

Thanks
Kim

I would say the jury is still out until they germinate Kim...

good luck...

the seeds really don't like 40C temps...lets just hope they didn't stay there long enough to do harm...

I've had some seeds up over 100 overnight by mistake and they still germinated. I found this out yesterday when I dropped a container of them on the ground. Grrrr. Might still get some to grow.
