i dont want to sound like a alki here but on another thread the subject of beer and drinks came up so i thought i would throw this out to yall what is your "drink of choice"

beer wise i like corona

hard stuff....hmmmmm crown and coke or jack and coke

also i like the taste of a fuzzy navel.

that and of course........"the bubba blast" my own invention.

Our first choice in rum is Barbancour and we mix it with Coke and a squeeze of lime. If we can't get Barbancour (which is when we're in Canada, we use Dark rum)

Good Tequila... Blue agave, any one we can find will do... Tequila is very difficult to get here.

Iceberg Vodka... There is no fresher, cleaner better vodka in the world.

and

Sleeman's Clear for the beer.

Who YOU calling an alki???

Hmmm, Bubba, as for Corona. There was a documentary on 60 mintues done about 4-5 years ago which took place in the Corona factory in Mexico. There were cameras placed around the 3 huge vats. One vat was for export to North America, one was for export to Europe and one was for domestic use. Well, the cameras around the North American vat caught on tape about 8-10 guys standing around the top of it releiving themselves. I'm not kidding! Come to think of it, perhaps that's why they serve it with a lime, it cuts the wang taste. Sorry about having to bring it up, but there are certain things people really should be aware of.

And Corona let this tape get out??? Oh my.

I'll stick to Sleeman's.

Beer ist good! Being 100% german hartage does have it's advantages ;)

I have a thing for freshly brewed beer. For the past year I've been doing a beer tour of Los Angeles and have found a particular brewary have become my second home...BJ's Brewary(http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/). I have fallen in love with their Harvest hefeweizen has this great taste(slight hint of cloves) and although I dislike dark beers I have found that their Gienus(sp) knock off call PM Porter is amazing!(The brew house locations will let you take home a growler of beer for $13 which I was just enjoying last night).

As for "regular beers" I like New Castle and Hienikin.

And hard stuff, Jack Daniels, Jagermeister, taguila. Although I have just brewed(and drank) my own batch of Absinthe and I must say, that's starting to become my drink of choice. At about 200 proof, it does the trick nicely(along with some other tricks as well ;) ).

Just what exactly is a "growler"???
It's what you stomach does when it has no beer in it...

Actually a growler is a glass, half gallon jug. So I get fresh beer to take home from the brewary to enjoy within 24 hours.

Very cool.

How is it that I grow up in beer country and don't know what a growler is??? Is that a California thing?

Germany?
Good guess... No, Canada.
That's snow country, not beer country...hehehe
I can hear John now... "Them's polar beers."

From what I understand, until we got involved everyone else was drinking the stuff warm.

Unless you drink it warm, THIS is beer country. :D

For the Chili Man there is one beer that stands above the rest. Sam Adams Black Lager. It has the rich malt flavor of a porter (or lighter stout) with the drinkablity and body of a good lager. I am fond of almost every Sam Adams varietal (not fond of the cherry lambic, that's a real hard beer to get right), but hold this one far above any beer on the market today.

The aforementioed beer is sometimes hard to get my sweaty little palms on though so for everyday imbibing, I am fond of Yuengaling (America's oldest brewery!) and a Pete's Wicked Ale (the original) is hard to beat. I have recently become a fan of Newcastle Nut Brown Ale as well (I think that it is a slower selling beer at some establishments, so when you order on out, it can be a little old and may have lost some of it's taste) but it is sublte and malty with a real clean finish, nice.

Okay I'll leave it alone now. I could hold a three hour conference on beer and it's wonderfulness, but will let it go.

By the way, the whole lime in the corona thing...(sorry Bubba) is due to the fact that the sanitation laws in Mexico are so lax, that to clean the bottle mouth before drinking, people began using limes, then with the mouth cleaned off, the lime was dropped into the beer...mmmmmmm (and I have also heard of the "beer whiz" incident as well)

growing up ive heard of young teens at a burger joint...lets just say its the burger joint that has the "king" in the commercials...were putting there "man seed" in the mayonaise...not to long ago here in davie county there was the idiots that was bathing in the dishes sink...im like if we stopped drinking and eating everything that "someone else" has made we would never eat.

Ahhh yes - one of my favorite topics. Booze! 8)

Lately, I have been drinking Sam Adams Hefeweizen. Fantastic beer.

For mixers I LOVE rum. My rum of choise is Appleton White Jamaican Rum and Coke. Appleton is one of the best rums out there in my opinion. Very smooth and mellow with a great carmalized sugan cane taste.

I'm thirsty!!

Anyone heard of Dogfish Head beers? The make a 60,90,120 minute IPA. The 90 was voted the best IPA in the world at an international contest. They also make a "Worldwide Stout" thats naturally 24.5%. It should be called "you're on you're ass and can't drive after two beers Stout"

A few of my picks:

Domestic ---- Imported

Dogfish Head ---- Harp
Rouge brews ---- Leifmans "goudenbond" Belgian
Allagash brews ---- Ayainger
Ommegang ---- Kelpie Scotland
