This looks a lot like a Bhut except for the brownish color on the top of the peppers.

I have a few bhuts that look like that. I think it could be sunburn.

Its not sunburn, more like a suntan protecting the pods from strong UV rays. Pods should ripen to normal red and be just fine. The purple anthocyanin pigment is actually a good antioxidant too
