Is this a disease ?

The base of my plants have these weird things like growing on it.

Anybody know what it is ?
I hope its not a disease.

roots....bury the stem up to where they stop and you will have a super strong plant..
 
Agreed, roots it is. Why might be because it's real damp up top. I've had cuttings take root sitting in water.
 
if you will notice, the new "roots" are growing out of the stem below where your cotyledons were and above that, no roots...that is a good indicator of how deep you should plant your seedlings when you transplant...that is the "mark" I use for depth when I transplant...
