Is your pepper a "she" or a "he"?

She's a 'beaut.  Hot as hell ... sometimes I see some real masculine language and imagery used to talk about peppers.
 
Do any of you genderize your peppers?  Do you love your "girls" or admire your "bad boy"?

In my mind, the only male part of a pepper plant is the stamen/pollen.  Other than that she's all lady!  And what a lady she is!
 
Having said that, I am guilty of calling peppers "bad boys" from time to time.

Found out last night that my girlfriend has decided to name the Super Chile seedling I am growing with the name "Frank". She says by giving it a name for her to attach some feeling to that she'll be more likely to not neglect it once I hand over to her... Guess we shall see about that. lol

I would say depends on the peppers. I would say the hotter the pepper the more female some of my favorite wilds are guys though. I never really have thought of that lol great thread.

Technically I think they could be considered hermaphrodites, but I definitely call the plants "the girls" since they produce babies like human females do. I may well call ndividual pods other things though.

I only assign gender when I cross them, using terms like mother and father and making x plant female and y male.

OK, I'll admit it.    ... From the time of planting the seeds, they all become my 'children'.  Culling the weaker, extra seedlings always is done with  reluctance.
Not being able to bring in more plants to overwinter, (particularly the great producers) is a sad event. Just a sappy 'ol geezer.

In Polish we got grammatical gender (like in German or Spanish) so peppers are female - I'm ok with that

I never gave it much thought, but I usually end up calling them a her or she just as I would call a ship a her or she. As for culling the week ones, if they don't look right when their little or start to crowd out the stronger ones, Out they go. Of course if I have a empty cup i might try to keep them.
