Jedisushi06 2014 Grow, Return of the JEDI

I started fairly early this year of 2013 for 2014.  I had a good garden season this summer and grew lots of super hots and non super hots.  I produced over 200 pounds of tomatoes for canning, and lots of cucumbers for pickles.  I used my last big tomato and pepper harvest to can salsa.  I plan on growing more plants this year and trying to grow some types i did not get around to this summer.  I also plan on growing peas, tomatoes, rhubarb, mixed greens, pumpkins, and non super hot peppers and thai chiles for drying.  Here's an updated list of what i'm growing so far.  I have plans for lots more peppers so stay tuned.  I want to thank all the great people on here that taken their time to send me seeds to grow, i want to give a shout out to Romy 6, Bhut Camp, megahot, Jack Superhot, Tmudder, Spicegeist, Colorado Ronin, Judy at pepperlover, silver surfer, Semilnas, Nigel Carter, Bill Moore, chile beast, Brian Seal, lucky dog hot sauce, Chris Joyner, my favorite cowboy, old barn nursery, and old dirty bastard.

Oh nice, I didn't know you were growing the Pale Bhut, I'm growing that too this year.  I wonder if the Rocoto will like your altitude, they are supposed to be from the Andes...
 
Is that Yellow Bhut one I sent you?  I'm considering cutting that from my list because mine is lagging the others in growth, but I probably won't have the heart to do such a thing.

I hope the Rocoto likes it up here at 7000 feet.  I grow bishop crowns every year and they love this climate, i had a plant last year that was as tall as my tomato plants, nearly as tall as me.  Sad part is it flowered late and all the pods froze before they ripened, must have been between 50 and 80 pods on that plant that were wasted.

 Same here on the caps, Plants came up chest almost, lots of pods, but 30% or less ripened before frost. Nice pepper, I may try it again if I could develop an easy plant to address that issue.

ICE SCREAM SCORPION
There has been a lot of interest in this new pod, this is a unintentional cross or a genetic throwback to some crosses I was making many years ago (it does share some characteristics with the other pepper I was cross...ing with a Scorpion) It grew from Zydeco farms Trinidad Scorpion grow out (200 plants) and it was the only one that showed up in the grow out or from any of the thousands of seeds I had distributed to the Chile head community (1 plant? odd, Genetic?) The color was a very pale yellow, sometimes pods that claim to be white are this "Cream" like color. The flavor was very sweet, sugar sweet in fact, with a hint of a vanilla flavor buried in the unique combination of heat and flavors. The heat is very hot, not Scorpion hot, but way hotter than the habaneros. I'd rate it somewhere between 200,000 to 550,000 shu. Now as far as the name, the color and flavor reminded me of vanilla Ice Cream, the heat was the Scream part, so combined it became the ICE SCREAM SCORPION! The sweetest Scorpion ever! This will be a f2 this year and with some luck and work the seeds will become available in a year or so, fresh pods maybe this year.See More

not worried about that but it is a thought in the back of my mind.  I'm more worried about my plants getting neglected.

Yeah it's like leading a blind horse to water.  I can't have the thought in the back of my mind that someone else who has never grown these before can take of them with my instructions.  If they any were to die i would be livid.  The reward is not worth the risk.  Plus i would hate to have to tell someone to babysit my plants. they are my burden but worth every ounce of sweat and tears.  I'm half drunk thanks for stopping in and checking out my progress.  Thank god the patriots proved that the colts were a fucking fluke vs my beloved chiefs.

Nice! Where did you order them? I lack knowledge for these simple things LOL. I bought some last year from "thegreenhousemegastore" and they look weak and flimsy, and I thought they were a bit more sturdy.

At that time I struggled with them not sending me what I ordered... I had to return 2 orders and I just ended up keeping whatever they sent me and I still ended up using them. Now I hesitate to order such thing...

I think i just ordered some bigger ones from there.  THese little ones i bought a local garden shop last year.
