Have you grown the King of the North before? I get asked about peppers for cooler climates, and it's the one that always comes to mind. Only, never having grown it, mention it is all I can do.

So, what do you think of it?

Alot of people grow them up here. They do quit well, but I haven't grown them yet. I have eaten many from other people though! I've gotten an early start this year, so I'm hoping that translates to a bigger crop. Also this is my first year growing from seed.... to much fun!

Ok, well I shall look forward to reports.

Is tha pasilla hard to germinate? Its been 30 days and no loops. I'm trying a new batch in a coffee filter. Maybe I got a bad batch of seeds.:(

Same with my poblano...

I didn't have any issues with the pablanos or pasillas last year...just planted some this past week so we will see what they do for this year...

I bought seeds from "seedman.com" last year...a bunch of seeds and had very very bad germination rates from them...most varieties never sprouted...learned my lesson...stick to seed suppliers that have a good reputation...

I have an issue with this growlog,

The only problem I have with your grow log is the fact you have no pictures joeknowsjolokia.

Hey, I'm not posting any pictures right now, either. The Puppy au Pair has my camera. I do need to get it back so I can make a record of my Cow Pots experiment.

My ex got the camera! I have taken some pix with my phone but they kinda suck!:(

AJ, these seeds were given to me, so I won't complain. I just put the cart before the horse and had plans for them this fall. Thats what happens when I try to work Gods will for him!!!!

So em,Pam, Do you have a mold that you put the wet manure into? And then stamp it? How do you do it?;)
Or, are you just growing pot seeds in manure?:P

No, they're a real product, with an ad campaign and everything. If I had that much cow poo to play with, I would be ecstatic!

Well, I'm reasonably likely to get mine back. She promised to take very good care of it, but she's 16.

About those pots Pam i used something similar for some of my seedlings and found that they in fact suck! I don't know if i did something wrong (most probably) but it seemed that the seedlings in the peat pots took forever to grow vs the ones that weren't in them.

The fact that the ones you are going to use are made from cow poo might help though, i dunno.

Well, that's what I'm going to find out. I have 48, so I'll use 8 for peppers, 4 for tomatoes, 4 for eggplants, 8 for various flowers, 8 for Italian basil, and 4 for cilantro, and 4 for dill. I'm going to use varieties that I know well and Ferry Morse Seed starting mix so I can see if the Cow Pots make a difference. I've used peat pots before, too, so the only unknown should be the Cow Pots.
