Hi Chris
That chile that you said should be an orange Thai looks just like my gochus. Wouldn't that be something if you got them by accident in a seed mixup...

I wish that was the case, I have had the Thai Orange plants for about 7 years and used seeds directly from my plants. No idea what happened by I blame the bees! I can send you some to taste and judge. I will have hundreds soon from the looks of the plants.

From what I understand, there's lots of Koreans living down your way, and maybe the bees did bring you some of the pollen from their peppers. It'll be interesting to see your review of the cross when they ripen.

I am using them tonight in sausage and peppers. I used them already and they are awesome! Message me your address and I will send you some soon and you tell me what you think.

Holy of holies, JHP, your pods are massive. I can't imagine mine
will ever get that big on the same varieties. Great pics of some
great looking chiles!

Keep rockin' and rollin'!

Thanks man, I blame the black soil and worms! I have been working on my compost for a few years and this years mix seems to be doing the trick.

Here we go again...

AT 906 PM EDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL... AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.

Paul took the words right outta my mouth. Never too many especially when the photos are gorgeous. You know we are all hot for pod picks. It makes us warm and tingly inside. Beautiful plants and the pods mad me drool a little.

Plants and pods made it through the night. First real harvest of more than a dozen pods. Guess I will have my White Habanero powder back in stock!

Top left to right and down...

Kung Pao, Naga Morich, Unknown (not Thai Orange)
Lemon Drop, Chocolate 7 Pot, Jamaican Chocolate, Black Jalapeno, Yellow Scotch, Pink Scotch
Thai Red, couple White Habaneros

I'll take proper pictures later.

Did you get the electric monster smoker from your dad then? I ran mine on Applewood for 2 1/2 hours at around, I say that as it was at times above and at times below, and the pods were nicely smoked. A little tinder but still firm, even the thin fleshed Habs which I was concerned most about. Looking forward to seeing how thaty come out.

I used my traditional smoker since it was already out cooking a Boston butt. Once I finished the pork I moved onto some Jalapenos. I have them in the dehydrator now and my entire basement smells like I am smoking again! They appear to have taken on a good deal of the apple wood smoke.

I am going to see about picking up the electric smoker from my dad on next trip south depending on size.
