Anyone here grow Chiltepin Amarillo's? I grew them last year and the plants were very normal in size. I have 3 plants this year and they are 5 foot tall and taller! Did I do that great on my compost and soil augmentation or are these things from another planet?

Looks like after being away for a few days there are a ton of pods to pick! I better get started....first Golden Habanero's ready to be plucked...yeah yeah I know they are small.

Finally done picking for today. A decent pull and so many pods on the plants, here's to hoping all the storms remain off the east coast and weather remains warm for a few more months.

WOW!! #enuf said

Edit: whats the green ones in the top right? looks like giant japs
You are correct, beyond Giant Japs! All of them are headed to smoker for my Jalapeno smoked blend. I am so amp'd with all the White Habanero pods. I was scared traveling this past week with a few bags since they powder came out so white. I would have hated to get pulled over and the officer do a taste test thinking it was something else.

WOOWWZERSSSSS!!! That is a great harvest. I went to Home Depot to pick up some charcoal today and took a peek at their smokers. I am determined to use my webber as a smoker. I dont think I need to buy one. They werent that expensive tho. I am going to try to smoke on the Webber first.

Gorgeous looking pods. Since my pepper identification is so poor, can you say what each pod is please. I am still learning thangs up here in dirty Jerze.... :P :hot:

Thanks, sure. I'll label them what they are supposed to be, I thought I had the roll-over thing enabled so it would show file name...

Chris, I finally bit the bullet... or rather the pod, and ate the Naga Morich in a chicken sandwich today for lunch. I ate a little piece the size of my little fingernail when it first came, to get an idea of how hot it would be, and ate the rest today after saving the seeds. That's the hottest thing I've eaten so far... and I've still got Jaimie's pods waiting in the wings! The Naga definitely lit me up! I'm glad I had it with food, I think Paul's right there. Had about 5 seconds of Chinense flavor and the heat hit. Lots of mouth and lip burn followed by immediate sweating and runny nose 2 or 3 minutes later. The mouth burn subsided first after about 10 minutes, and the lips followed about 15 minutes later leaving an overall impression of warmth for about half to three quarters of an hour. I'm going to make a pot of Moroccan greens for supper tonight and I'm going to put the larger of the orange Thai in them after eating the smaller one. Made some Tomatillo- de Arbol salsa for a party yesterday and put some of the smoked jalapeno powder in too to kick it up a notch. Everybody loved it. Thanks a lot for sending your pods and powder. It's been an education!

stickman, you are most welcome sir and I appreciate the review of the pods. Glad to know the Naga has some heat! I am sending a few pods off to another member for video reviews. The wife and I plan to do tastings of all so I can properly describe them on my website. I am going to use some of your powder in a dry rub for some ribs and a butt next weekend!

very nice harvest, did you smoke the white habs? did you remove the seeds before grinding them up?
"without a picture it hasn't happened" :P

I have only smoked the 3 types of Jalapenos thus far. My last harvest of white habs was well over 300 so I do plan to smoke a tray or two of those as well. As for removing seeds, sometimes I do and other times I do not. I do plan to start removing a lot more so I can have plenty of seeds to pass around and use for next year.
