Hopefully you get results like I did. I put out a few egg cases 4 years ago, every year since I have had a large number of mantids on the property. The Chinese mantids are common around my area, but it is not common to see as many as I do. Beautiful creatures!

I have had at least one sack hatch in my yard for the last 7 years. They are one of my favorite creatures to take pictures of in my yard. Check out some of the pictures I have on my Flickr page.

Those are amazing photos! I actually have two mantis tattoos... I would post pictures of them, but I am a little self-conscious about stuff like that.

You ever sell any prints of your work?

I understand selfie photos. :)

As for selling prints, I am starting to take photography a lot more serious this year. I am currently working on my photography site and still have an enormous amount to learn. Thanks for the compliments!

Incredible photos !
Thank you very much, I look forward to expanding my collection this year.

Nice captures, cool creatures ... they were a fav as a kid, and I've not seen one live yet ...

That's going a long way towards renewing my interest in the 100mm IS ...

I think I might trade out my 90mm T/S for a 100mm IS, it would be more useful for the forseable future ...

I just bought a long time wanted piece of new glass, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

Most all my insect shots I use this lens.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Autofocus Lens

Slowly but surely everyone is turning green and starting to flower and pod up.

Wow, love the Flickr slideshow. Is there a quick explanation somewhere on how to do this?

Uploading photos/photo sets to Flickr now. Can't seem to figure out how to post the slideshows on THP though...

You should be able to copy and paste your set link and it works...funny thing mine now fails?

Very strange, I did nothing special and it worked before. I suspect it is related to the BB software and not Flickr.

Here is how to do it but does not seem to work now...maybe once per page...no idea.

If it's a set, go to the set, then open the first photo.

Click the more button (that's the 3-dots one) and choose "view slideshow".

That will launch the older version of the slideshow. Click share in the top right corner and you'll find the embed code.

Thinking I have flea beetles on my all pepper square foot garden. Anyone else dealt with these things? Tons of tine holes on the leaves and cannot find a single insect. Guess I have some night hunting to do.

Yep, had them last year but not on my peppers. They attacked my radishes and my brassicas. I believe the beneficial nematodes really took hold this year because I haven't seen any and I haven't sprayed anything.

I think Spinosad and pyrethrin both work to control them. I remember they weren't much of a problem once I identified them.

Got a pic of the holes? Slugs and snails are usually what eats holes in the leaves in the wet spring. A little slug bait scattered around the soil takes care of them.
Yeah I'll snap some pictures but these are all random on leaves like buckshot. Snails and slugs usually eat holes in a perfect line and they love my Canna and hasta plants. There are also zero slim trails and it was in the 90's for 5 days and everything very dry.

Jeff makes a really good point. I have seen tons of slug damage in pictures around the THP the last couple of weeks, and I have been fighting them all Spring. Flea beetles will make holes that are very, very small, so small that you would need to hold a leaf up to a light source to see them. Slugs/snails on the other hand will make holes that are very obvious.

He could be right but I have slug damage on other plants and I have slug bait everywhere. Not a single sigh of dead slugs anywhere near these...baffling! I am open to the expert opinions for sure, had enough bug problems indoors. :)

For comparison, here is some slug damage on a yellow Monzano. The picture is a few weeks old. The other thing that comes to mind is Japanese beetles. They can eat the hell out of some leaves. I dealt with those last year, but your damage doesn't really look like Jap beetle damage. They tend to not leave a leaf until they strip it.
