We're supposed to get a cool front this weekend, knocking us into the 80's.

Are you getting it later in the week?

Hope all those babies ripen!

We are mid 70's daily and 50's at night for next 10 days and previous 10. I just hope we hold off on first frost until the normal time, 2nd week in November.

Chris, A few years ago I had everything planted, I usually plant peppers, corn, squash, and tom's the first week of March here if the 10 day looks OK. Well late March around the 21th or was it the 25th it hit 26° here, very unusual weather. Luckily it was a Friday night, I was up at 4 and walked to the garden with a flashlight, shoot, frost on the ground! I turned the sprinkler on and went back to bed. At 6:30-7 and still dark I checked again. This time everywhere the sprinkler hit was solid ice! I decided to leave the sprinkler on until the ice melted, I lost one pepper plant, that's all I lost in the whole garden!

The reason being the frost dehydrates the plants and that's what kills them, not the short time cold.

Moral of the story....you can beat some frosts and extend your season when it's worth doing so.

Funny you post that, I actually proved out this old farmers tale last season. I covered some plants and soaked the rest with water. Ones with water were in pristine condition, plastic tons of damage, I too am a believer of using water on the plants just like they do in FL on the citrus fruits.

I like that anecdote about sprinkling water on the peppers on a frosty night... I'll be remembering that one for sure!

Nice Chris! I have enough Gochu powder put away from the last couple of years that I might just deviate from the norm and go Thai in its place next year. I don't have seeds for as many varieties as you do, but enough for a beginner I think. Cheers!
