Well, if there is one good thing that can come out of sitting for 7 hours in a hospital waiting room, it's that I finally had time to crystalize my ideas for the TD.

I would REALLY like to participate in a TD, but sweet lord every time I see a post about it, it goes about 30 pages deep and I can't ever nail down the parameters of the TD! :(

First friday of the month. Goes through Sunday night, then voting for 2 days. On friday THP posts the rules and starts the thread for entering. The rules are almost always the same for each throwdown no matter the dish. The throwdown does require a POL or Proof of Life such as a quarter or dollar or other specific amount included when posting pics so everyone knows the pic wasn't kyped or that you didn't make it yourself. Click on the above link Throwdown Discussion and you'll see heaps of examples.

this is us just talking crap.....it will start next friday-sunday...when it starts thp will post rules and what we making this time will be griiling burgers..
 
THP won't post that until he posts the rules on the Friday it starts.

Here you go:

First link: Standard Rules - these are the general rules that apply to ALL throwdowns.

Second link: Specific Rules - this is an example from last month's throwdown. The specific rules might override some element(s) of the standard rules. You'll see that the title of this linked thread includes "Begin!" - THP will post a thread separate from this one, and that will be the official start of the throwdown. You just have to be looking for it that Friday - the time of day he posts it varies.

So generally there are two threads per throwdown. This one (and others like it) are in the Discussion section, and are for things like possibly posting ideas for what the next throwdown should be, and, of course, smack talk. The official threads, such as the Begin! threads, are found by clicking the Throwdowns link underneath the Throwdown DIscussions link on the THP homepage. Well, there are three threads - duh - the voting thread, too!

And just to be clear, it will start June 1, since that happens to be the first Friday of next month.
