Just a newbie here-what is this pepper? Help.

The other day someone drove by my house in Mexico and wanted to sell me this pepper plant. He said there were 21 plants in the pot but he didn't know what kind of peppers they were. My first question is what kind of pepper is it and how come some of them are turning black. I will attempt to post 3 photos from my website. It is very hot-I took a bite before I bought the plant. These are pretty small about the size of a half dollar.

Do a search for Golden Nugget peppers, or Chinese Five Color peppers, and see if either of those match up close.

It's a place to start anyway.

:welcome: from Myrtle Beach, SC
The green peppers with black shoulders are typical of some varieties....lilke Jalapenos.
They are more than ok....then they ripen to red.

Welcome from central Pennsylvania. Just a heads up, there is a pepper ID thread here.

http://thehotpepper.com/forum/120-pepper-id/

Since I'm learning a lot right now I use the pepper ID thread to test myself on learning different peppers and pod variations. I'm a far ways away but much better than I was 2 months ago

:welcome: from sunny South Florida! :woohoo:

:welcome: from the PacificNorthWest!

Looks like you have more than one kind of plant in there.
The third pic looks kind of like a Black Pearl, but not sure
about the foliagel; my black pearls have much darker leaves.

Good luck with your 21 peppers!

Thank you everybody for your warm welcome. Yes this pepper is hot nearly closed my throat during the taste test and took about an eternity to settle down. Thin skin and lots of seeds on the pointed ones and your probably right about the different varieties. Appreciate the info about the black peppers I'll see as time goes by. Will share more pics later. You guys are very helpful thanks again.
