Just bought a house in the country

Well, to put an exclamation point to the wild 12 months I've had ( separated from wife, dating and moving in with first love, XMAS spent in the Falls, trip to Columbus to see UFC, bailing on rental house, changing offices from Toronto to Hamilton...), I have made my life change official by bailing on the big city and moving to a town with a population of a couple of thousand, which is closer to my new job...

So if I start saying shucks in my posts, I trust y'all will fergive me...

Nice. A little peace and quite seems like just what you need after a wild year. Im torn cause I like the city, but i wish i could have a bit of land... Oh well can't afford anything but an apartment at this point so its all still wishful thinking.

Thks. I finally have a nice big gazebo to cover my smoker... all weather BBQing is a treat. Hey - I got enough empty yard to try growing some peppers...

Good deal, then. I still want to get a serious amount of ranchland/acreage someday......out in New Mexico preferrably......i just gotta come up with the 10% down for it.

That sounds like the way to live.

Looks like you will enjoy it there. Good luck man.

Thanks. It is definitely a less stressful environment.

Sounds great, congrats!

I'll admit to liking the conveinience of city life, but hate everything else about it. I'd love to hava 'lil place out in the country someday, but that takes money...even in this economy.

HEy! that's great news! Congrats!

Thanks dude. It's a great spot, and house has lots of character inside. Sun room, party room, nice hardwoods, and I'm a 10 minute walk to this pub that sells 'Volcano' wings, which are actually hot enuff for me to appreciate. It's been a helluva year.

Post a pic of the house when you get a chance.

will try tonite after a few pops... God, that should be interesting...I might need DickT's help...I'll wind up with a house with a mullet...

Congratulations. most of my family live in this small town (which used to be A LOT smaller, but still...) and I'm thinking of moving there. not too far away from where I live right now. it's REALLY close, not just "not too far away". 15min drive or something like that, lol.

You saying this wild ride is over? Congrats on being happy.

It has been a rather stressful year. I am really looking forward to settling down and working on my BBQing skills.

The more I visited my girlfriend out where I moved, the more I realized I loved it there. Glad to hear you did the same and have no regrets.

congrats to ya on the new move to a smaller town, sounds like you'll love it. but still living in a town so cant really call it living in the country (IMO) maybe could call it hicksville
living in the country is being able to walk out your door & do whatever you want w/o any hassle (within certain limits ya know but well beyond city/town rules)
country living is good but has its drawbacks (like said) the small towns aint got shit for stores or items you're looking for, so you still need to travel into the bigger cities to get what you really want for when it comes to some items. but theres plenty of peace an quiet.
