Well, I picked up these 20 gallon containers at Lowes over the weekend for about $6.89 apiece. My 3 bhut's roots were starting to grow out the bottom of the previous containers, so it was time to move them into their final destination. They look like mini trees, with the main stem at least as big as around as a pencil. Looking closely on pic #2, it actually looks like flowers might be forming. I'm not counting on getting any harvest this year, but if I get a few, I won't complain.

Nice to see your Bhutts superdv1 they look fantastic in those large containers and yours at the same stage as some of mine bhutt/african/dorset nagas but most re podding and some of the older ones have a lot of flowers..lets hope the rest of the season we can get some pods before the weather changes :)

I'm curious...how tall are those?

I don't have any Bhuts, but my Bih seems to be growing outwaard rather than up..which is great because I'm indoors with limited space....but I'd like to see some flowers too.

Since you have one that's budding, do ya think mine will be soon too? They were started in about April I think.

It's about 6" tall now, but seems very healthy. Currently in 8x8" 1.62 gallon fiber nursery pots.

I'd love to have pods by October when I got friends visting...hehehe.

Both of you got some really healthy looking plants! I love the typical chinense look with the big bumpy leaves and the compact and symmetrical grow. Good work!

Not trying to steal your thread Superdv1 but i have 1 quick question for you bhut growers.

I have read in another thread (just can't find it) that the bhut doesn't easily pollinate?

If this is true, what is the best way to help it do so???

are the edges of the leaves always crinkely (dunno if that is a word) on the jolokias? My inca red drop did that this year and it looks really cool when the plant gets big.

your plants look happy and those big pots should help the yield too.

Q. What causes flower drop?
A. The four main causes of flower drop are:
night temperatures exceeding 80 F, night temperatures falling below 65 F, excessive nitrogen, or lack of pollination.
Changing any one of these factors, or pollinating by hand, would be the best answer to this problem.
