Leaves turning white?

So all my plants that I brought back to California from Utah are developing this white thing on thier leaves

It looks like THIS

Does anyone know what it is or how to possibly fix it?

poor buggars are really having a tough time standing on their own two feet. It is hard to tell from those photos but I think you might be experiencing "sun burn". Were these plants in full sun before planting them where they are now? If not, you probably should have hardened them off before kicking them out of the nest.

dude dude that is sunburn

get a trash bag or grocery bag and use a coat hanger
to make a frame and build a little shade type thingie for you plants
think of a mini easy up type of thing

if it will make a shadow to block even part of the sunlight for a few hours should help
do not give up make some little umbrellas NOW

About 25% of my plants got burned as well. With all the wind here it has been hard to harden them properly. They will recover eventually but may get stunted for a bit.

The best hardening method I've found thus far for me is 10 days under a white maple tree, after that they're good to go. I stumbled into this routine last season and now I swear by it!!

It gives them time to adjust to the temps with less than full sun exposure. When I noticed they were getting beaten down from the sun I moved them to the shade and they perked right back up. I guess this is using what Mother Nature provides you.

yeah i might build a shade thingyy.

dude get your plants some shade!. make a makeshift shade. get a black/green garden netting and cover them with some supports for the 4 corners.

even shabby like this also ok as long as your plants get at least 50% sun for now.

DudeThtsBad:

Does it have to be a "white maple tree" or will most any shade tree work?

any tree probably..

dangg thats legit, i needa get garden netting!

Give them some shade of any kind, particularly at the hottest part of the day.

yeahh i will

yes under anything that shadows
some of the sun will help

make sure to water the soil they are in they will
need water to be able to use the water as part of their sunning defenses

make a shaderator and water them well

oh one more thing,
in the second picture above it looks like you have a pepper setting there
on the one with the pretty "S" shaped stem
although it is too early to tell for sure
i think there is a chance you have succeeded

edited for one more thing

yo, dude dude,

the chili will need to grow a few days
before you can eat it

you will see the flowers then the flowers brown and fall away
leaving the little tiny baby chili there
after some time it swells and grows to a big bad boy (or it can shrivel and die off)

this growing thing will teach you the hard way so you will learn well
please be "sure" to keep notes so next time when the little difficulties show up
you will find the remedies as you tried the last time

not everything will always work out
(not every flower will make a chili)

you could just set a patio chair over the top of them plants for shade
just for starters.

if the item will give some shade it is working

yes in your area it is quite often
that way until like 11 am
then the sun can come
and be pretty strong

the shade table looks good
i would leave it there for a week or two

keep killing those snails
