Lemon drop pepper, but extremely hot?

These were marketed as "lemon drop" but everywhere I read about lemon drop peppers online it's bright yellow peppers that are roughly twice the heat of jalapenos. These were extremely hot, and have stayed mostly green and then turned straight to dark/red. Anyone know what these might be?

Zooming in on the flower petals I can see what appears to be the characteristic yellow spots on the petals of a plant belonging to the C. baccatum species. The leaves and fruit also resemble those on the C. baccatum varieties I have grown.

Those look like lemon drops and they should turn yellow. As for twice as hot as a Jal, mine are way hotter than that and always have been. Mine are closer to a normal hab you get at the market.
Thanks for the responses guys... and yes these are giving about the amount of heat Id say a Habanero gives.

If they're turning red then they're not lemon drops, though I don't have enough experience to be able to identify exactly what they are after that. As for heat, mine have been hotter than the cayenne I grew last year.

Maybe not turning red, but certainly turning dark and possibly becoming red in the near future. You can see the change in shade on the top of the pepper in the 2nd pic...
Why did you say they turned dark red in your opening post?

Because on first inspection it looked like they were, but now meathead said they aren't them if they're turning red I took a second look. It still appears to me that it's a dark red, but may just be dark.

Do you have a photo of the fruit in daylight?
