Long growing season in Central Texas, how late can I start?

I planted most all my seeds during spring break last year, around the middle of March and did okay.

Can I start muliple batches of peppers and plant mid-March, beginning of April and mid-April and better utilize the season?

How about getting through the intense heat of July/August?

Would putting a screen over the peppers to cut the sunlight be helpful?

I am near Tyler and already have 60 plants started and will be in 20 ounce dixie cups till april and will put them in 3 gal pots then.
Last year I did have to put up a burlap sun break for the afternoon sun. But this year I am potting instead of putting them in the ground so I can move them once I see the sun angles. I am in a new place so it will be all learning. I will be using mushroom mix for my soil and should get a good crop. Hopefully :>)
