Look what I found...

...stuffed under my stairs about a week ago.
 
It was made between 1920 and 1940. It's a 12 gauge single shot break open barrel.
 
There is some rust on it, but not much. Other than that its in great working condition. The company that made this
 was bought by Savage Arms a long time ago. I like that this one was made in my home state.

I just finished mounting it on a wall right by the front door.

awesome.. my first gun was a Stevens pump  when I was 15.    Unfortunately the action broke and although we had a gun smith attempt a repair, it kept screwing up.   Had to retire her and ended up getting a 870 remington.  I knocked down a lot of birds with that Stevens though.  :)
