One of the bright young stars of the MotoGP world was killed in a terrible crash today in the Malaysian GP race. He was one of the more personable and likeable riders and will be sorely missed. Thoughts are with his family, friends and fans worldwide. He was 24.

This was SOOOOO sad to hear! he was a fun to watch up and coming star! i loved the aggressive style he had, i missed the crash, but saw a you tube clip and it made my gut drop. a few buddies of mine were discussing how maybe the afro of his made him have to wear a larger helmet than was safe. but i think the impact of Edwards bike was what killed him. none the less it was great loss to the sport!
Yeah spongey....I don't think the size of the helmet made a diff....like you said the force of Edwards bike was devastating. He was definately on his way to a helluva career. Strange that his career ended where he won the 250 championship a few years back. A great one gone.
I watched a.slow-mo video of the crash and he was trying to save it but he was barely hanging on! He was one.of my favorites
