Masher 2017 *GLOG*

Hello all...while I couldn't grow every variety of pepper seeds I received I did come up with a nice list for this years 2017 grow.

I was going to start in soil, but I had great results last season with Grodan cubes and I already had them left over.

I started with 2-3 seeds per hole, but midway went with poking extra holes in the cubes to isolate each seed.....I will cut the cubes apart later when transplanting.

There are 2 cubes of the Aji Lemon drop for the 2017 GT, everything else will be grown or gifted depending on success.

The numbers after each variety of pepper is number of seeds sown, I make a final grow decision from what comes up

Aji Lemon drop x5
Rocoto Red x3
Giant choc Hab x4
Sadabahar x4

Choc BBG7 x4

Happy Growing all and HUGE thanks to THP members: OCD, Immolated, D3monic,Wiriwiri, Hogleg,PaulG,Scovie and JurZdevil for hooking me up for seeds this season. I think that's all of you, i hope i am not forgetting anyone

12 days later....pic update  ;)

Tray 1.....The one dead center in the rear has 3 buds (Nu Mex Hatch I think)

Tray 2

Tray 3

A few plants have the curled out edges on some leaves...I gave them their first full dose of Nutes yesterday.

Overall very glad will success so far...I think the curled leaves that come and go are nothing more than the result of rapid growth due to the potting mix, constant 78F temps and lighting.

Will have some pretty large plants by late May for plant out

The group shot of all 3 trays

And lets not forget the second batch of replantings and late seed selection

I am still here and thriving....just not enough time to be on here daily right now.

almost all of the Aji varieties are flowering and pods have emerged.

Pubes have some purple flowers as well.

I didn't plan very well.....everything is still in 18oz solo cups because I am out of room to re pot them :(

The second round of plants are still in mini single serve yogurt cups.

everything needs to go outside but I am 30-45 days from plant out yet.

anyway.....I hope to just let them all go until plant out.  Then I will top several of the tall plants already flowering to get them bigger and bushier.

thanks again THP for all the help and getting me seeds for this season.

April 9th pictorial update.....The plants under the 600w hid are going great. I just need more space. Still sitting in 18oz solo cups waiting to go outside asap.

This group was started from seed 1/01/2017

A few highlights.....

New Mex hatch

Aji Crystals

Bishops crown and possibly P. dreadie SB in there somewhere

The over wintered choc Moruga

The second plantings started 2/01/2017

These are in the small yogurt cups and only seen the T5 lighting

Another 3-4 weeks and hopefully can start hardening off and get them outside.

Happy growing all and thanks for all those who contributed seeds to my grow

Awesome, Dan, you have it goin' buddy!  You're getting
amazing pod production under the 600W HID light!

You're doin' the PNW proud, my friend!

Small pic update this morning.

All pepper plants are now outside....getting couple hrs of sun then into the shaded metal shed to harden off over the next couple weeks.

the plants under the 600w hid's have done excellent for living in an 18oz plastic cup and little to no food but a couple watering of MG to keep them alive.

The ones under the T5's are small and perfect size for plant out I hope.

Will wait until Feb next yr to start seeds and get a better timing on plantout.

A few standouts to share.
