chinense Matt and the Pepper Growing Man's Bhuts

So I got a nice package in the mail today, and by nice I mean flaming hot. The Pepper Growing Man from thepepperseed.com sent me a package with a great variety of super hots. Chocolate Bhuts, Caramel Bhuts, Brain Strain, Douglah Cross, and this monstrous Giant Red Bhut Jalokia. The size on this Chili is noticeably bigger than the normal Bhut. The bigger of the two measured in at 4.4 inches and the smaller just shy of that. Also, because he is a nice guy, he threw in a batch of his Smokey Ts seasoning. But onto the taste. This video took FOREVER to upload! I tried to get it up last night, and had 2 errors. So better late than never. I am planning on trying the Chocolate tonight, and MAYBE the Caramel if I feel up to it. I was gonna give it a try this morning, but the wife and I are going out for Sushi tonight and there is no pepper that is gonna get in the way of that. The last thing I want is to have no taste when I am eating the wonderful dead uncooked fish tonight!

But keep tuned in to here because for THPs sake I will post all the videos from PGM in this thread and save a bunch of clutter on the boards! Enjoy!

At first it was very fruity. It was quite enjoyable, aside from a few seconds of a weird soapy/earthy taste similar to the Assam. The texture was perfect, nice and thin with a crisp bite. Enjoyable.

The heat was manageable, focusing mainly on the top of the tongue, the back of the lips and moving its way outward. I got a bit of heat at the entrance of the throat, however, it didn't move much more from the entrance. My hands got a bit slow, not as bad as the Assam, but it still had me waiting for no use. Maybe it is just me....But another noticeable difference was the amount of head fluids that "let themselves out". I definitely let a bit more loose this time.

I was waiting for it to hit my stomach, but it hasn't came yet. About 30 minutes later and still nothing. I can feel the placement of the pepper at the top of my stomach, but not a pain like before. Interestingly, my beer has a very funny taste, overly fruity. Not a normal thing...

Update: no stomach pain last night or this morning. The main thing was by breakfast tasted a bit "off", but that could have been anything. And, taking care of business wasnt pleasurable.

Overall, I enjoyed this one. Ill take mouth heat for no stomach pain any day.

Sweet happy pain…I know it's much easier when someone else is doing the suffering!!

Good Job!!

Buildup your strength, can't wait to see the next show!!:onfire:

Great video, can't believe you ate that whole pod, it was huge! I love the taste of the reds. I think the chocolate is a little hotter and am still undecided on the caramel. I thought it was hotter than the red but not sure about being hotter than the chocolate. That red douglah cross came from THP member Pepper Ridge Farm. I got some douglah seeds from him and that's what grew. I found it to be incredibly hot...in my top 5 in terms of heat for sure. Sneak the shaker to dinner

Part 2

Alright, so this one kicked my tail in a different way. I thought all was well, actually, i thought it was a bit weak, but then it hit me. After the video I was on the ground for 25 minutes wallowing in my sorrow. That MF hit my stomach with the fury of 20 baby-mommas. I swear I wanted to die. On a heat scale I would give it a 6 or 7, but on a pain scale that beast is over 10. I know, I know I made a big stink about the number scales, but seriously, this is the first pepper that has made me want to die. My wife kept on asking if I was ok, and I thought that I was, but it got worse by the minute. The total stomach pain lasted just about 25 minutes and definitely sucked. It is about 1 hour later and I am 100%.

That's weird that it hit you that way. I never have any stomach pain from bhuts but the 7 pots always rip me up. Seems like that one was a bit of a dud heatwise too. Hopefully the others are a little better.

Matt the way you describe the peppers I can almost taste them. Once again nice work and look forward to many more in the future :woohoo:
